Frequently Asked Questions
Do members need a diagnosis to receive services?
Not at all! Our services are developed individually to the needs of each person and take all background information and potential diagnoses into account when planning group dynamics. Our counsellors and facilitators are experienced with many profiles. Some more challenging needs may require additional conversations.
What is the cancellation policy?
We are understanding that sometimes life takes unexpected turns and cancellations and rescheduling is needed. There is no charge for cancellations for the first two and are given more than 8 hours in advance. Thereafter, a fee may be charged as per the policy you received at intake - please review! A credit card is on file for all members that will be used if a fee is incurred.
What if the calendar has no availability for the service I'm looking for or the day of the week I'm needing?
Let us know! We often have blocked out space for last minute schedule changes, new consultations, and other various needs that may be available to you if it works for both you and the centre. It never hurts to inquire with us for alternative scheduling needs.
Will my group or workshop facilitator be the same for the entire 6 weeks?
Yes! It's important that group facilitators are the same throughout the duration of the program as the facilitator develops the individualized plan and often forms a therapeutic relationship with each person that cannot be replicated when changed frequently. In the event a replacement may be needed, we make every effort to give advanced notice to all members.
How does the Integrated Phase System of The Drawing Board work?
In order to teach self-regulation and support teaching self-awareness, we don't see success in throwing a bunch of people together in a room right off the bat and hoping for the best. The Integrated Phase System (IPS) is designed to teach these key skills from the ground up, starting with 1:1 learning in Phase 1 and eventually moving to a max. group of 8-10 members in Phase 4 to show off those new skills while still being facilitated. Visit The Drawing Board section in Groups & Workshops for more information!
What if the services aren't working out or fitting for our needs?
No problem! Not all services work for all people and we never want our members to feel stuck or worried about this. If desired, we work with you to find a more suitable option in the community that may fit better so no one leaves feeling lost or hopeless.
